The Most Important Decision You’ll Ever Make
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16, ESV
If you’re here, something brought you to this page. Maybe it was a podcast episode, a friend’s invitation, or a quiet nudging in your heart you can’t quite explain. Whatever it was — we believe it was God. And He has been waiting for you.
Inviting Jesus into your life doesn’t require perfect words, a clean record, or a long church history. It only requires a willing heart.
Step 1 — Understand the Good News
We have all fallen short of God’s perfect standard (Romans 3:23). But God, in His perfect love, sent His Son Jesus to take the punishment for every sin — past, present, and future. Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day, defeating sin and death forever (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
Step 2 — Pray a Simple Prayer
There are no magic words — speak from your heart. If you need a starting place, this is a prayer many have prayed:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer and meant it — welcome to the family. Heaven is rejoicing right now (Luke 15:7).
Step 3 — Start Reading the Bible
The Bible is God’s love letter to you. The best way to know someone is to hear from them.
- Start with the Gospel of John — written so you may believe (John 20:31).
- Then read Romans for a deep foundation of grace and faith.
- Then explore the Psalms for honest prayer, comfort, and praise.
Which translation? We love the ESV (English Standard Version) for accuracy and readability, and the NLT (New Living Translation) for everyday clarity. Both are excellent for new readers.

Step 4 — Find a Church Community
Faith is not meant to be lived alone. God designed us for community. Finding a local church is one of the most important next steps you can take.
Look for a church that:
- Preaches directly from the Bible
- Is warm, welcoming, and honest about struggle
- Offers opportunities to serve, grow, and connect
- Keeps Jesus at the center — not programs or personalities
Not sure where to start? Try ChurchFinder.com or ask a believing friend for a recommendation.
Step 5 — Why Community Matters
Hebrews 10:24–25 tells us not to give up meeting together. Community is where faith gets tested, strengthened, and sharpened. It’s where you’ll find people who will love you at your worst and celebrate you at your best.
In community, you are not just a listener — you become a member of the body of Christ, each person with a unique and irreplaceable role. You are not alone. You are not unqualified. God uses ordinary people — just like Shane and Joe — to do extraordinary things.
If you took a step of faith today, we would love to know. Send us a message through our Connect page — we would be honored to pray for you and celebrate with you.
